Did somebody say lobster? I got to eat quite a lot of it while visiting Boston last year, and one holiday Monday this year, I had some errands to run, so I thought that Lobster would be a great treat. The location is really a bit unusual, just kind of down some side road near the airport, but you know you’ll be getting close when there is literally no parking and a ton of cars just circling the area. I was shocked to see so many people out and about on a Monday at lunch, but I suppose the holiday could have something to do with it.
Or it could be the fact that Monday they offer a one pound lobster with coleslaw and chips for $24.95. It seemed like a great deal, which is one reason I went, but it looks like it’s why a lot of people go. Although I did see a lot of people eating other things on the menu as well, including lobster mac and cheese, lobster corn chowder and the traditional lobster roll. It’s pretty easy to order, they give you a seat and you just order at the table from your phone. Thee place was already slammed when we arrived around lunch time, and after we left it was even busier!
But it’s all about the lobster, and honestly, the lobster was pretty fresh and high quality. Sadly, it was a smidge overcooked for my liking, but perhaps that is just what happens when you get an entire lobster and cook it whole. I much prefer getting lobster to cook at home so I can break it down, butter poach it, and make it melt in your mouth, but for no prep, it’s a solid amount of food at a bargain price for lobster.
Plus, they have a whole market so now I know where I can get those lobsters to cook at home on special occasions. You can also just buy pre-cooked lobster meat or do-it-at-home lobster roll kits. They also have crabs (both live and cooked), shrimp, mussels, or clams for whatever dishes you want to cook.
