It’s a new year and a new time to try out some of the Food Trucks around the city. This time, I stopped by Sip n Slurp for lunch. They have a variety of noodle bowls inspired by several different Asian countries. While I was tempted by the Korean bowl (as I do always love Korean), I opted for the Laksa-mazing which is a Malaysian style noodle bowl made with chicken and rice noodles in a spicy coconut curry style sauce. The queue was quite long when I arrived, and I ended up waiting about fifteen minutes overall for my rice bowl.
The bowl itself was fairly simple, but the flavors were really packed in. The sauce is quite thin, so it’s definitely not a laksa which is usually more of a soup, but it was really spicy and the more I ate, the more spicy it became. The chicken was cooked nicely too, so I really enjoyed everything in it. I did find the noodles a bit hard to eat with chopsticks as they are short and fat, but I’m also super uncoordinated so perhaps it is more of a me-problem.
I was really happy with the noodle bowl except I would prefer a few more vegetables with it, so next time maybe I’ll have to try the vegan Korean bowl as I originally planned. But I definitely will be back to try some other bowls. And perhaps the gyoza or chicken kara-age they have on the menu as well!
