A friend of mine told me that I definitely needed to give Senor Sisig a try. It’s a Filipino food truck, and it is very popular in the city. And popular it is! I tried on several occasions to go to one of the trucks, but the line was always a bit too long for my liking. Finally, one day, I managed to get there early enough that the line was very small, so I hopped in so I could finally try it out.
The food truck has a few different options from tacos, nachos, fries, salad and burritos. I opted for the easy route and decided to give the Tosilog Burrito a try. It provides less choices (as all the others are choice of chicken, pork or vegetable) plus the tasty added bonus of a fried egg. And I do love a fried egg. I also got it spicy, but I like to take a risk and play on the wild side.
And the burrito was in fact very tasty and not at all a trend like I was kind of expecting. The tomatoes added a nice burst of freshness, and the spice level was perfect. The egg was definitely an added bonus to the sweet Filipino pork (which was almost like a roasted char sui pork). I was very satisfied with the burrito and was kind of sad when I finished.
Score: 4.5/5
Recommendation: Probably anything to be honest, but make sure to silog it (add a fried egg!)
