Who wouldn’t want to try a food truck with the same name as a James Bond film? Technically, the restaurant and food truck are named after a nautical sail (which is probably where the corporation in the film also got its name). And, with a nautical name, it’s no surprise that they serve quite a bit of fish. I also won’t deny that I really do want to find some amazing fish and chips in the area as I really do miss the ones in the UK!
Even though they serve a lot of other things, including fried shrimp and a lobster sandwich, I knew my first try was going to have to be the fish and chips. They are served with duck fat fries, so be aware that these are not really pescetarian friendly (and I can’t tell you if the fish goujons are cooked in the same fat, sorry!). It is served with two different sauces for the fish: A caper aioli and a remoulade.
The fish was really soft and well cooked, and the duck fat fries were definitely a great touch. However, neither of the sauces was a real wow for me, and I honestly would have preferred a nice tartare sauce over the ones that were provided. With a classic dish, sometimes one can go too out of the box. Overall, they were nice, but they definitely don’t stand up to the amazing fish and chips you can find over the pond.
Score: 3.5/5
Recommendation: Fries! (Most of the dishes come with them, so maybe the lobster sandwich? I might give that a try next time!)
