I think Korean food has become my new obsession. I have spent months trying to make the perfect kimchi pancake. I have tried making different proteins (bulgogi marinated flank steak and ribs). I make a baked Korean chicken with gochujang sauce and kimchi fried rice almost on a weekly basis. But even with my obsession, I’m no expert, so I am constantly searching for new places, and one day at lunch I found myself at Bobcha food truck to give it a try.
Of course, I immediately went to the Korean fried chicken. I absolutely love it. I also decided to get it with the kimchi fried rice. Of course, after the fact, I realized that thy also have something on the menu called “Cup Bob” which would have allowed me to get a few chicken wings, a second protein, rice and slaw for a slightly cheaper price (and it probably wouldn’t have been so massive as well). You live and learn, and that’s kind of what I get for being so focused on fried chicken.
I was really excited to dig in as it looked fantastic. However, the weird sauce that I make at home by chucking a lot of stuff together is actually a bit better. But the chicken was falling off the bone, and it was nice to have some greens on the side. The fried rice was okay, but nothing memorable. Would I get it again though? I think so. I’d like to try some of the other things on the menu, but I’d probably go for the Cup Bob instead.

Recommendation: I think the Cup Bob seemed like a fantastic value for money, plus you get to try quite a bit more!
