I am still a sucker for Mexican food, even if the Mexican in California feels like it has been Americanized more than ever. I love a good depth of flavor, but a lot of places in San Francisco seem to not satisfy. I keep trying though. This time, I decided to try the tacos from Birra Estilo Jalisco as a quick dinner before meeting up with some people.
Everything here is made with stewed meat (hence the name), and their meat of choice just happens to be beef. The tacos were also slightly fried shells filled the brim with birria and a load of melted cheese. I dumped the sauce on top and went to town. The tacos were very tasty and quite filling. The crunch of the shell added some texture to the soft meat and cheese filling, and the sauce added just enough spice to really make me happy and warm inside.
While the menu options are limited, I think I’d definitely return to get some more of their delicious food if I saw them out and about again!
