What’s the excitement about food trucks? I honestly don’t know. I love to check them out though and try out whatever they have on offer. It’s not as if they often provide different options than a sit down restaurant. Nor are they cheaper, but I will go to a food truck park any time and give something a try. On this trip to Spark Social, I decided I needed gyros! They remind me so much of the doner kebabs I had in the UK, and while very similar, I know there is some difference between the Greek and the Turkish food.
I went went for the Gyros Plate($14) with gyros, rice, salad, fries, tzatziki sauce and a pita bread. It was a lot of food, but I got to try a selection of what they had on offer. Everything was pretty good. The rice was alright, but I’m not usually a fan of rice. I really enjoyed the freshness of the salad, and of course, the gyros were excellent.
It definitely was a fantastic place to get my Greek street food on, and I think if I were in the mood, I’d probably return. I may go for a sandwich or salad next time as fries, rice and pita were definitely on the starchy side, but if I had been drinking, I think my drunk self would have been very happy with my order!
Score: 4/5
Recommendation: The gyros meat was fantastic!
